Astragalus Black Chicken Soup

Chicken soup recipe made with astragalus.


  • 20g (about 4 1/4 teaspoons) dried longan
  • 20g astragalus (about 4 1/4 teaspoons or 4 sticks)
  • 6 red dates
  • 1 chicken (skin and fat removed)
  • 1 piece tangerine peel


  1. Rinse all ingredients; blanch chicken in boiling water for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Fill soup pot with water, add in all ingredients then bring them to boil and turn to low heat, let the soup simmer for 2.5 hours.
